Massimo Banzi

Technology Consultant | Interactivity Expert

Hello, I am Massimo.

I am the co-founder of Arduino, an Interaction Designer, Educator, and Technologist. Throughout my career, I have worked as a consultant on innovation projects for clients such as Prada, Artemide, Persol, Whirlpool, and Adidas. I spent 4 years as an Associate Professor at the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea, teaching workshops and being a guest speaker at institutions around the world.

Before joining IDII, I was the CTO for the Seat Ventures incubator and worked for many years as a software architect, in Milan and London, on large web projects. At just 26 years old, I became a pioneer in the commercial internet by serving as the webmaster for Italia Online, Italy's first major internet provider and web portal.

I am also the author of "Getting Started with Arduino," published by O’Reilly, and have contributed to the Italian edition of Wired Magazine and other publications. I started the first FabLab in Italy, which led to the creation of FabLab Torino, and I was the first curator of the Maker Faire Rome, a major innovation event in Rome.

I currently teach Interaction Design at SUPSI in Lugano, in the south of Switzerland, and I am a visiting professor at CIID in Copenhagen.
